I sort of got a little ego boost out of it, if you want to know the truth.
I feel like an asshat-- I had 20 unmoderated comments waiting for me to look them over and I didn't even know it! Who knew people were reading this thing?
Anyway, I'm intending to start a new blog and I will post the link here when it's up and running. My sincerest apologies to everyone who commented and thought I was ignoring them, especially those of you who are actually my real-life friends!

You and the Cap'n Make it Happen... Or not, in my case
I am having an upsetting afternoon. Approximately one hour ago, I sat down at my desk to enjoy a delicious bowl of Cap'n Crunch cereal, which is the only sweet thing I could find in the house. Unfortunately for me, my tastebuds today are not working properly, and my cereal tasted terrible. No, I'm serious. It tasted awful-- so awful I thought the milk had gone bad. Immediately following that sugary burst that comes with the initial crunch of a milk-soaked mouthful was a strong bitter taste, the likes of which I have never experienced from the Cap'n. In fact, the closest flavor I can think of is Bitrex, which my mom used to try to get me to stop biting my nails as a kid.
I checked the expiration date on the milk, and it's still good. Same with the cereal itself. So the only conclusion I can reach is that my tastebuds are broken, which makes me very, very sad. I have an entire half-box of cereal that I am unable to enjoy. Weep for me this day, internets.

NaBloPoMo Day #2, or the first day of actual posting, if you're me
Despite my affinity and alleged talent for writing, I'm more of a reader than a poster when it comes to blogs. Yesterday, when I was supposed to be writing my inaugural NaBloPoMo post, I was playing Everquest 2. Yes, the whole day. Until it was time to go to bed. Remind me some time to tell you more about what a nerd I am, but right now I have to go to bed, because I've spent the whole day playing video games again and I'm too tired.
And I had all these grand ideas about the blog posts I was going to write for NaBloPoMo too. I'm serious. And this is what you get instead.

recovery/relapse
My back was feeling a bit better when I crawled out of bed for the second time this morning (the first time was at 5:30 to feed the pets and swallow some painkillers), and I would have jumped for joy at the thought if I could, you know, jump.
But then I sneezed. And the pain was so blazing-bright, I couldn't bear it. I died.
The end.
